How much does the Crunchbase API cost in 2026?
Crunchbase does not publish an API price; full access comes with an Enterprise or Applications license on a quote. Vendr's buyer data puts average Crunchbase spend at about $16,000 a year, with a top contract near $151,000 (Vendr). A self-serve Pro seat costs $99 billed monthly but does not include the full API.
How much does the Crunchbase API cost?
There is no list price. Crunchbase sells full API access as part of enterprise contracts, so the cost depends on the data, the users and the rights you need. Buyer data gives a range.
| Crunchbase product | Reported or published price | API access | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | $99 a month billed monthly; annual plan discounted 38% in year 1 | No full API | Crunchbase support |
| Business | From about $199 a month per seat | No full API | SyncGTM |
| Enterprise and Applications licenses | About $16,000 a year on average across all Crunchbase buyers; maximum about $151,000 | Full API | Vendr |
| Median buyer spend | $20,000 a year, from 70 purchases | Mixed plans | Value Add VC, citing Vendr, October 2026 |
Prices above are reported by third parties, several of which sell competing tools. Check current terms with each vendor.
The Vendr figures cover all Crunchbase purchases, not API deals alone. An API license that allows you to show data in your own product usually sits at the top of the range.
Is there a free Crunchbase API?
Not in a useful form for most projects. Third-party guides describe the Basic tier as limited to 3 endpoints, organization search, organization lookup and autocomplete, and quote Crunchbase saying full API access requires an Enterprise or Applications license (Nubela). A 2026 review says the earlier free tier has been discontinued (ZoomInfo Pipeline). Funding rounds, investors and people data sit behind the paid license.
What are the Crunchbase API limits?
Aggregators report a single rate limit of 200 calls a minute across the Data API (APIs.io). Total volume is set in each license and not published. Ask sales for the monthly call cap, the export rights and whether cached data must be deleted when the contract ends.
Does Crunchbase have an MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT?
Yes. Crunchbase documents an official MCP server that gives an AI assistant the same data as its API, and lists Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and others as supported clients (Crunchbase docs). Access is bought per workspace and assigned to users as MCP seats, and sign-in uses OAuth (Crunchbase docs). What the assistant can see depends on your existing Crunchbase package. Crunchbase does not publish a price for MCP seats.
When should you pay for the Crunchbase API?
Pay for it when funding rounds, investor names and startup lists have to flow into a CRM, a scoring model or a product, and when your team already trusts Crunchbase records. For a single analyst, Pro and its export allowance often cover the same need for far less; see what Crunchbase Pro costs. Before signing, test 10 companies you know well against their filings. For US startups the primary record is usually the SEC Form D, explained in how to read a Form D filing.

Where does Tamarly Intelligence fit?
Tamarly Intelligence is Tamarly's research platform on companies, funds, countries and markets, built from official filings and open data. Its venture workflow reads every new Form D from operating companies, leaves out funds and real estate, and opens on raises of $15 million or less, with each company's Form D history rebuilt into rounds. Every figure links to the filing it came from.
Developers can use personal API keys on Tamarly's main routes, with 1,200 calls an hour per account (docs), or connect Claude and ChatGPT to the MCP server at https://app.tamarly.ai/api/mcp, which is included in every plan. Tamarly shows no investor names on private rounds and no valuations, so it works best next to Crunchbase, as a check on its records.
