How do you see which companies report results soon, by industry?
US-listed companies furnish their quarterly results release to the SEC on Form 8-K under Item 2.02, results of operations (Investor.gov). The gaps between a company's past Item 2.02 filings show when its next results are likely. Tamarly's results calendar does this for the 1,000 largest companies and groups them by industry, so you can see when a whole sector reports.
Why read results by industry?
Companies in one industry often report within the same few weeks, and the first results in a group set the tone for the rest: a bank's loan growth, a chipmaker's orders, a retailer's margins. Reading by industry shows who reports first, so you know which release to read before the others.
How are the dates estimated?
Each company's next date is estimated from the spacing of its past results filings on EDGAR. These are Tamarly estimates, not dates the companies announced; a company that confirms its date in a press release or on its investor relations page is the final word. The calendar covers the 1,000 largest companies Tamarly follows (Tamarly results calendar, 31 October 2026), each placed in an industry from the industry code on its SEC record.
Step by step
1. Open the results calendar and go to your industry. Each group opens with how many companies report and which one is first. 2. Note the first reporter in each industry you follow. 3. On the day, open the company's 8-K and read the release attached to it; see how to read an 8-K filing. 4. Compare the figures with the same quarter last year, from the 10-Q that usually follows; Tamarly shows the change in percent next to each filed figure.
Where does Tamarly fit, and where does another tool fit better?
Tamarly fits when you want the reporting order of a whole industry and the filed figures on the day, each linked to the filing. The calendar is open to everyone. It does not cover call times, analyst estimates or consensus figures, and its dates are estimates; for confirmed call times, the company's investor relations page is the source. Tamarly gives research, never advice to buy, sell or hold.

Frequently asked questions
What is Item 2.02 on a Form 8-K?
It is the item a company uses to furnish its results of operations, usually the quarterly press release attached as an exhibit (Investor.gov). It is the earliest filed version of the quarter's figures.
Are the dates in the calendar official?
No. They are estimated from the gaps between each company's past results filings on EDGAR. The company's own announcement of its date takes precedence.
